Ambient Temperature

Ambient temperature & humidity affect the maturation time of EPS resin during processing. Higher temperatures shorten maturation time, while cooler conditions increase it.

Handling & Storage Conditions

Expandable polystyrene beads should be stored in dry, well-ventilated areas at temperatures below 25°C.

Packed material must not be exposed to direct sunlight or for long periods or to in-direct sunlight and must be protected from mechanical damage.

At higher temperatures (> 25 °C) there is a chance for loss of blowing agent which results in higher density.

Storage areas should be provided with bottom ventilation ports as the blowing agent is heavier than air

If the storage temperature exceeds the recommended level, processing performance will gradually deteriorateand the minimum achievable density will increase.

Sparks, Smoking and welding in the proximity is forbidden. Keep away from Fire and Sparks.

Processing Guidelines

Maintain proper earthing in material conveying systems

Use dry, saturated steam for expansion

Ensure insulated steam lines for energy efficiency

Maintain pre-expander chamber temperature at 97–98°C

Preferable pressure is 0.1 to 0.3 kg/cm² in pre-expander chamber.
